Kings Score 4 in Win Over Wild.

Dwight King watches his shot as it finds its way past Niklas Backstrom and into the goal.
On the second night of a back to back for the Kings, they seemingly had no problems scoring tonight. On Monday night the Kings only goal came with less than 4 minutes remaining in the game. Tonight it only took the Kings 44 seconds to score against the Wild.

Justin Williams scored on a redirect that came on a shot from Slava Voynov from the blue line. Dwight King scored the second goal when Anze Kopitar hit him with a pass right in front of the net. Anze Kopitar scored a goal of his own when Dustin Brown made a nice pass across the crease and Kopitar finished into the empty net. Jordan put one between Backstrom's legs off of a rebound from a shot that Alec Martinez took. It's good to see Kings score some goals, but another great thing about this game was that 4 different people were able to record a goal. Having 4 different players score can only mean good things as scoring can be very contagious. Dustin Brown continued his points streak with two assists tonight. Bernier was perfect in net tonight as he stopped all 25 shots the Wild took. A big difference between tonight and last night was that tonight the Kings looked to have more traffic in front of then net, guys crashing to the net, and guys moving into the slot looking for passes to create scoring chances. The defensemen were pushing up and creating scoring chances as was the case on Nolan's goal. Passes in front of the goalie to get the goalie out of position worked for the Kings tonight as well. They looked good offensively and attacked the net in many ways. One great stat for tonight was that the Kings only took 15 shots, and scored on 4 of them. The defense played great tonight as they never really allowed the Wild's forecheck to make a difference. Nothing but good signs came from tonight's win, so lets hope they can carry this momentum to Saturday and turn this into a streak. As bad as the Kings have been of late, they are tied for 8th in the west, 1 point behind San Jose, and 2 points behind Phoenix for the lead in the Pacific division. The Kings are back home on Saturday against the Ducks.
