The Kings and Predators traded chances early, as the Predators were swarming early with the pressure on their forecheck. The Predators finally scored a goal with just over a minute left in the 1st period. Drew Doughty deflected a shot from Roman Josi that somehow found its way past Quick, and the Predators led 1-0 heading into the first intermission. In the 2nd period the Kings had their chances including a Jeff Carter shot that rang the post but stayed out to keep the score at 1-0. Not even a minute later, the Predators scored again. Mike Richards over skated a puck behind the net, and that led to a Patric Honqvist goal, giving the Predators a 2-0 lead. The Kings finally got into the scoring column late into the game when Dustin Brown took a shot at the net that bounced off of Ryan Suter and into the net. That was all the scoring the Kings could manage, as they dropped this one by the final count of 2-1.
